THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON trailer is out, and once again we get to see our favorite assembled team. We start the trailer in Tony Stark’s grand penthouse overlooking New York. Like most superheroes the illustrious team is doing the usual: drinking wine in formal outfits while taking turns trying to pick up Thor’s hammer mjolnir, Excalibur style, when Ultron, played by James Spader, crashes the party in tattered pieces spouting insidious rhetoric. In a way that only Whedon can provide, we move from fun and games to darkness and action.
According to Whedon the film was shot in the Italian Alps, Seol Korea, Johannensburg, Bangladesh, and all over England. In an interview Whedon did with Empire, he’s interested in providing a new aesthetic to the second movie, moving the visual quality in a direction that differs from the first.
We’re also going to have HYDRA leader Baron Wolfgang von Strucke, and mutants Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver providing even more obstacles. This movie is set to be a fantastic thrill ride, and considering that we know Marvel intends and has been setting up the details to connect all of their movies, it will be interesting to see how this movie triggers events in the upcoming Marvel superhero films.
